The Qur'an is the central religious text of Islam, which Muslims believe to be a revelation from God (Arabic: الله‎, Allah). It is widely considered to be the finest piece of literature in the Arabic language.

It was revealed to the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) through the angel Gabriel (Jibril) and it has been interpreted by Muslim scholars over the centuries. It is divided into chapters and verses. Each chapter is a sura and has a title, which indicates the topic of the chapter. There is also an introduction to the Qur'an called the al-Fatihah, which introduces the concepts of Islam and gives information about God (Arabic: الله‎, Allah).
